Gunduthopus are a unique concept meant to create green spaces in Karnataka. These are small pieces of land that cannot be used for commercial purposes and are specifically allocated for creation of social woodlots. Any citizen is free to plant trees here. 

Unfortunately, greed and an extreme shortsightedness has led to most of the gunduthopus in Bengaluru being encroached and deforested.

We were lucky to find support from local citizens and a generous corporate donor that helped us restore the former glory of a gunduthopu in Kachanayakanahalli, Hennagara. Our aim is to afforest the entire area and create a high-density forest here. We planted 750 saplings in August 2022 and another 1000 saplings in September 2023. 

The trees are growing well and everyone is welcome to come over and have a look.

Another 2000 trees can still be planted in the area remaining. We look forward to your support in helping us complete this project.
